Karen Marie Banks Lupien, 61, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 17, 2024. Karen was born on January 8, 1963 to William and Josephine Banks in Davenport, Iowa. The family moved to Roswell, NM where Karen attended Goddard High School and graduated in the class of 1981. She attended New Mexico State University and graduated with a BA in Business in 1987. On June 27, 1987 she married W. Todd Lupien at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish in Roswell, NM. They had two daughters Katherine and Cynthia.

Karen worked at Pizza Hut as an Area Manager for many years. She was also the Administrator at Assumption Catholic Parish. She retired in 2023 from her Administrator position at Mission Arch Care Center. Karen enjoyed crossword puzzles, going to the movies, and spending time with her family. She was a devoted Catholic and member of Assumption Parish.

Karen is preceded in death by her father William Banks, her sister Jean Apodaca, and her aunt Mary Jane Kuemmerle. She is survived by her husband W. Todd Lupien, daughters Katherine Shaw (and her husband Nicholas) and Cynthia Casaus (and her husband Anthony), her grandson Calvin Shaw, mother Josephine Banks, brothers Michael and Thomas Banks (and his wife Cassie), aunt Mary Jo Dadaian, nephews Andy and Danny Apodaca and Joseph Lupien, and nieces Annie Lisak and Baylee Banks.

A rosary will be held at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish in Roswell, NM at 1:30p.m. on Friday May 3rd with the funeral to follow at 2 p.m. There will be a reception to follow the mass in the Parish Hall.
