Exploring the incredible contributions of the boy who dreamed of being an engineer is the centerpiece of this month’s Launch Pad Lecture at the Museum of Space History. “Rocket Man: Max Faget, The Ultimate Spacecraft Designer,” presented by Museum Executive Director Christopher Orwoll, takes a look at the innovator who designed the Mercury Capsule and was instrumental in the designs of many other spacecraft, including the space shuttle.

The Launch Pad Lecture begins at 9 a.m. on the museum’s first floor and is free to the public. Coffee and donuts are compliments of the International Space Hall of Fame Foundation.  The next Launch Pad Lecture will be held on Friday, February 4, and the topic will be “Back in the Saddle Again: The Flight of Apollo 14” with Museum Outreach Coordinator Tony Gondola.
