Railroad Museum hosts Brown Bag Lunch lecture about Pablo Melendres Jan. 11.


Las Cruces Railroad Museum (LCRRM) will host “Brown Bag Lecture: Las Cruces Founder Pablo Melendres,” presented by Carlos Melendrez, at noon, Tuesday, Jan. 11.

There is no charge to attend the event. Bring your own lunch!

Carlos Melendrez will share the story of his ancestor, Pablo Melendres, a peace officer and founder of the village of Doña Ana, including Pablo’s role in helping to establish Las Cruces and the controversy surrounding his burial after death.

LCRRM, 351 N. Mesilla St., is accessible via RoadRUNNER Transit Routes 4 and 7, Stop 1.
