Organ Mountain boys win in Belen

The Organ Mountain High School boys cross country team continued a strong start to its season Saturday, Sept. 18 at the Adron Gardner Classic Cross Country Invitational at Belen High School.

The Knight boys had the top individual runner and five runners in the top 10. They also won the team competition.

The girls results were not immediately available because of a malfunction in the timing system.

Organ Mountain’s Brett Bybee was the top individual with a time of 17 minutes, 13 seconds over 3.1 miles.

Also for the Knights, Jeron Wisner was third (17:53), Jonathan Torres was fourth (17:59), Andrew Parks was sixth (18:07) and Corbin Coombs was ninth (18:30).

Dax Rios of Centennial was seventh (18:15) and Alexander Pineda, also of Centennial, was eighth (18:28).

Centennial finished third in the boys team competition and Las Cruces was sixth.

Organ Mountain will host the Rob Winter Classic Invite on Saturday, Sept. 25. The meet will feature 20 teams; the first race is at 9 a.m.
