LAS CRUCES MUSEUMS

Not too late to write to Santa

Railroad Museum continues holiday programming

The Las Cruces Railroad Museum (LCRRM) is offering two new holiday programs this year, the City of Las Cruces said in a news release.

Continuing through Saturday, Dec. 18, residents can write or drop off their letters to Santa Claus at LCRM. The letters will be carried via train to the North Pole, the city said. Santa’s responses will be available for pick-up at the museum two to three days after the original letter is sent.

Mrs. Claus will visit LCRM for a special arts and crafts day noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11. Mrs. Claus will help children of all ages decorate ornaments, make their own greeting cards, create cotton-ball snowmen and make other holiday decorations.

LCRM’s “extravagant holiday decorations” went up Nov. 30, and will be in place through early January 2022, the city said.

LCRM, 351 N. Mesilla St., is open 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

The museum is accessible from RoadRUNNER Transit Routes 4 and 7, Stop 1. F
