A casting call for paid background extras for a Netflix feature film will be held 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Sept. 25, at Mesilla Town Hall, 2231 Avenida de Mesilla in Mesilla, said Las Cruces Film Liaison Johnathon Sepp in a news release. Casting agents are also looking for vehicles.

“The feature film production is looking for paid background extras to populate a scene in a Netflix movie, as locals of an authentic Mexican town,” the news release said. All adult ages and genders are welcome to audition, along with children age 6 to 12 years old.

Scenes for the movie, which was not named in the release, will be shot in Mesilla in late October.

The production will also be hiring individuals with 1996 and older model vehicles, Sepp said. The vehicles will be parked in the scene. Attendees can list their vehicle information on a card provided at the casting event.

All those who are hired for the movie will be required to take a Covid-19 test prior to costume fittings and work on the day of filming, the news release said. Individuals will also be compensated for the Covid test and costume fitting. Proof of Covid-19 vaccination is required for all adult employment.

Anyone who cannot attend the casting call can set up a free profile at https://forms.gle/xncfZptLrAHKd9MQ7.
