Museum Hosts Bilingual Bedtime Story: Los 'Tres Pequeños Jabalies'

On May 17 at 7 p.m., at Zoom meeting https://zoom.us/j/96571460566, Nena Benavidez and Angelica Padilla will read Tres Pequeños Jabalies/Three Little Javelinas in Spanish and in English.

Nena and Angelica will team up to read this bilingual Southwest take on a classic fairy tale. The first two javelinas soon running from the hungry coyote, who wants to eat them with red chili sauce. Fortunately, they have a wise sister, who made her house with strong adobe bricks.

Nena Benavidez is a local healer who helped to create and interpret the Museum’s ofrenda for Day of the Dead. Angelica Padilla has also participated in the Museum’s Day of the Dead programming as a mariachi singer, which she does professionally and can be heard not only at Museum events but at gatherings large and small.

Tres Pequeños Jabalies is available at the Museum Store, and can be purchased to support the Silver City Museum Society by emailing store@silvercitymuseum.org.
