The Christmas tree in the old Mesilla Plaza stands ready to be lit Friday, Dec. 1 at 5:30 p.m. The celebration includes performance by the Las Cruces Academy and photo ops with the Grinch, Jack Skellington and Gingy the gingerbread man. On Saturday, Dec. 2, a tree lighting event begins at 6 p.m. at Plaza de Las Cruces.
