Lisa Alden has always loved art and has been creating since childhood. Before formal training in art she worked in hospitality and medical career fields and in 2000 earned a B.S. in chemistry from Eastern New Mexico University. In 2012, she earned a B.A. in art with double concentrations in ceramics and painting from the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas. After living in many places, she returned to Alamogordo following her husband’s retirement from the U.S. Air Force. She works in her home studio, dividing her time as a ceramic artist making hand-crafted pottery and creating watercolor paintings inspired by the natural wonder and beauty of New Mexico. Lisa loves to feature animals in her art. She especially loves to paint watercolor pet portraits and is currently accepting new commissions.
