The Doña Ana Arts Council will present a live concert by folk musician Joe Jencks on Saturday, Jan. 20, in association with the nonprofit A Still Small Voice.

Jencks is a Chicago-based songwriter and vocalist who, according to DAAC, cofounded the Brother Sun ensemble and has performed at the Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall and other prominent venues and festivals.

Proceeds will benefit the arts council as well as Weaving For Justice, a volunteer nonprofit working with Tsotsil and Tseltal Maya weavers in Chiapas, Mexico, according to the organization’s website.

“We are honored, humbled, and excited to be partnering up once again with A Still Small Voice to continue building community through the performing arts and supporting another local non-profit, Weaving for Justice,“ DAAC Executive Director Araceli Solis stated in a news release.

The concert will take place from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at 230 S. Water St., with doors opening at 6:30 p.m.

DAAC said tickets will not be sold at the door, and purchase information as well as other details about the event are available at the office, or by phone at 575-523-6403.
