Grant County Art Guild Presents Creatures of the Gila Art Show

Posted

Renowned as a celebrated community of artists and outdoor lovers, Silver City features the Creatures of the Gila Art Show. Presented by the Grant County Art Guild (GCAG), the 2023 exhibit runs from September 1–10, with an opening reception on Sept. 1 from 5–7 p.m. The opening reception and exhibit take place at The Studio, located at 200 W Market.

Featuring art pieces created in various mediums and techniques, the juried art show celebrates the diversity of the wildlife found in the Gila River watershed and pays homage to the incredible creatures of the area. Each selected entry draws inspiration from or depicts a Gila “creature” (mammals, birds, reptiles, fish and insects). Accompanying the art pieces will be descriptions of the featured creatures and their habitats, making the exhibit both entertaining and educational.

Silver City artist, gallery operator, and founder of the Youth Mural Program, Diana Ingalls Lebya will serve as the Art Show Judge.
