Farm and Ranch Museum hosts event June 17

The New Mexico Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum (FRHM) will host the third annual Fiber Extravaganza 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, June 17.

Fiber demonstrations will include wool spinning, knitting, weaving, quilting, basket weaving and natural dyeing, the museum said in a news release.

The event will include informational tables and demonstrations provided by Southwest Regional Spinners Club, My Place Jewell, Weaving for Justice, Las Colcheras Quilt Guild, Las Cruces Knitting Guild, High Canyon Weavers and Spinners, ThreadBear, USDA Southwest Cotton Ginning Research Laboratory and the Doña Ana Arts Council.

The extravaganza also included fiber workshops that began June 6 and continued during the festival.

Regular museum admission will be charged to attend the event: $5 for adults, $4 for senior citizens and $3 for children ages 4-17.
