Ember Theatre’s ‘Wyrd Sisters’ is April 14-16 at Readers Theatre

Ember Theatre’s “Wyrd Sisters,” adapted by Stephen Briggs from the novel by Terry Pratchett, will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Friday-Saturday, April 14-15, and at 6 p.m. Sunday, April 16, at New Mexico State University’s Isabel M. Crouch Readers Theatre.

Tickets ae $10 at the door.

In the play, “Hamlet meets the Scottish play in this hilarious parody where three witches must protect the fallen king's son so he can take the land back from the evil duke and duchess in this two-act show that's full of foolishness and mayhem with a colorful cast ranging from witches, royalties, fools and a playwriting dwarf,” Ember Theatre said.

Ember Theatre is the student theatre club on the NMSU campus. It is open to all NMSU students regardless of major or theatre experience.

The show is directed by Darcy Harman and stage managed by Luis Castro. The cast consists of NMSU students and community members and includes Karen Buerdsell (Granny), Susie Ouderkirk (Nanny), Eliza Phillips (Magrat), Jonah Maze (Duke), Sally Locke Scholl (Duchess), Vee Montoya (Fool), Elia Vasquez (Tomjon/Ensemble 1), Wes Smith (Verence/Ensemble 2), Gus Sanchez (Vitoller/Ensemble 3), Mario Nuñez (Sergeant/Ensemble 4), Austin Reeve (Hwell/Ensemble 5), Alexa Lares (Mrs. Vitoler/Ensemble 6) and Omar Moreno (Demon/Ensemble 7).

To reach Reader’s Theatre, take University Avenue to Jordan Road and turn south on Jordan. You can park in the parking lot behind the bookstore. Readers Theatre is at the southwest corner of the parking lot.
