Dry Point Distillers and Livingston Bridal and Events will host Small Business Saturday Market from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, in the parking lot they share at the 1680 Calle de Alvarez, one block behind First American Bank, 1553 Avenida de Mesilla, at the corner of Avenida de Mesilla and Calle de Alvarez, as you enter Mesilla from Las Cruces.
Dry Point Distillers owner Chris Schaefer said the pop-up market will include outdoor vendors selling crafts, clothing, jewelry and gifts of all types, just in time for holiday shopping. Schaefer said Dry Point Distillers will be open noon to 11 p.m. Nov. 27.
Schaefer said all of participating vendors represent local small businesses. He said other vendors in Mesilla will also be hosting Small Business Saturday events on Nov. 27, and New Mexico Vintage Wines, 2461 Calle Principal in Mesilla, will host a pop-up market similar to the one being offered by Dry Point and Livingston Bridal.
Schaefer said he is hopeful another pop-up market will be held shortly before Christmas.
He said Dry Point Distillers and Livingston Bridal hosted pop-up markets April through July to boost sales for theirs and other local businesses. The idea for the market came from Livingston Bridal owner Roxanne Livingston, Schaefer said.
The markets were “a huge success,” he said. “People loved them.”
Schaefer said he is working with the Town of Mesilla on an ordinance change to allow the markets to return with up to 30 vendors participating in three markets per quarter.
