2024 Silver City Art Association Independent Artists Holiday Market

The SCAA continues the tradition, after the pandemic, of offering holiday shoppers unique gifts at affordable prices, along with homemade treats, live music by Peter Dahl-Bredine and Marc Yakley, and a relaxing break from the holiday rush.

The SCAA Independent Artists Holiday Market takes place 4-8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 8, and 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 9, at the Murray Hotel Ballroom, 200 W. Broadway, Silver City. Info: SilverCityRedDot@gmail.com



2024 Christmas Jubilee

Over 75 local vendors and food trucks take part in this annual shopping extravaganza, with a family activity room for all ages, live performances, a visit by Smokey Bear and all proceeds going toward charitable organizations in Lincoln County.

The 2024 Christmas Jubilee runs 12-5 p.m., Friday, Nov. 8; 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 9; and 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 10, at the Ruidoso Convention Center, 111 Sierra Blanca Dr., Ruidoso. Info: 409-313-3868


Jo Mata Opening Reception

Artist Jo Mata, a self-taught mixed media Dominican artist based in Santa Fe, explores the female body from a sociopolitical, philosophical and identity point of view, creating thought-provoking art in which figures appear immersed in reverie.

Mother Courage and Her Children

German dramatist Bertolt Brecht’s 1939 anti-war musical set in 17th century Europe and following the plight of a woman who operates a rolling canteen business during the Thirty Years War is given new life under the direction of Larissa Lury.

Super Secret Improv Workshop

Sounds of Freedom

A spectacular Veteran’s Day weekend celebration, featuring live music by Hear No Evil and the I-10 Band, unique craft vendors, food trucks, inflatables, pony rides, a car show and a drone show that will light up the night sky as a finale.

This Murder Was Staged

The El Paso Community Foundation Jewel Box Series presents a murder mystery in which even the audience is suspect during the opening night of a new mystery play, in which the director is murdered, turning the theater into a crime scene.

Pamyua

Alaska’s most famous Inuit band makes two stops in southern New Mexico, showcasing their culture through music and dance performance, derived from traditional melodies reinterpreted with contemporary vibes, that has been described as “Inuit Soul Music.”
