astrology

The Sun, traveling through Pisces this month, dissolves our sense of separation — until it enters Aries on the 20th, marking the Spring Equinox, and we step further into life to assert our independence. We are interconnected, and it is through our personal evolution that we become capable of fully participating and contributing on the highest collective levels. Knowing and embodying ourselves increases the human potential. The full moon on the 10th in Virgo helps us to feel our personal boundaries, and the new moon on the 26th in Aries tunes us into new aspects of ourselves.

Mercury conjuncts Mars on the 1st, Chiron on the 3rd and Neptune on the 5th, all in Aquarius. We are becoming less inhibited when it comes to speaking out and sharing our ideas, innovations and visions. The dramatic changes surrounding us have opened up space for new possibilities. Venus turns retrograde (until April 17) in Aries on the 6th as we look within and assess our values. Mars conjuncts Neptune in Aquarius on the 8th, fueling the sacred fires. The Sun conjuncts Uranus on the 12th in Pisces, illuminating the importance of allowing space for every spirit to unfold in this world that we share.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20) — Happy birthday, Pisces! As you begin your new year, you see the benefits of working with what is already established. We can always step forward into unknown terrain and begin anew, but there is often a deep richness undiscovered in what we have already created. Your appreciation grows and deepens.

ARIES (March 21-April 19) — Divine love can be found in the midst of all kinds of relationships and in all kinds of places. You tap into the spiritual bliss that giving and receiving love brings with it. There is nothing quite as wondrous as seeing our beauty reflected in others as we open up and share ourselves with them.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20) — You reach within and draw forth the courage you need, Taurus. There is a strength that you offer others as you move in new directions with confidence. There is much to explore and new things entice you. You are willing to relinquish the familiar in favor of better things.

GEMINI (May 21-June 20) — You work to strengthen your boundaries, Gemini. You have seen the downside of letting in energy that is not compatible with your own best interests. As you use more discretion, you undo opportunities for cruelty. You feel a greater ability to limit the access of unhealthy energies to your thoughts.

CANCER (June 21-July 22) — Intuition is the key, Cancer. No matter what logic may say, it is your heart and your feelings that hold the keys and reveal the truths you need to follow. You are tuned into the subtler levels of life and you have a strength there that is well developed. Use this exceptionality to find your way through new terrain.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22) — The authority born of true wisdom is what you rely on now, Leo. You do not base decisions, or make choices, based on shallow reasons. You call upon what it is you have learned and come to understand, through living life and contemplating your experiences, to make choices and find the right direction.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22) — You are victorious, Virgo. Look toward the light. There is much to be proud of and you can relax in the knowledge that all you have worked for has not been in vain. You have a powerful mind and all you need to do now is look around you and appreciate the fruits of your labors. There is much to enjoy and you deserve it all.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22) — It is most important now that you realize you can count on your own judgment as sound, Libra. You work to tune out others so that you can tune into your own inner voice. You pull your energy back in to your center and that is where your clarity is the strongest. It is great to be open to others, but it is also great to keep your own counsel.

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21) — The sensual side of life calls to you, Scorpio. You are in your greatest state of health when you go toward the riches of this world and enjoy the pleasures here. Your depth can be a burden when revealed in unwanted places, so search for the realms that bring you satisfaction and exist there.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21) — Just because we are capable of doing something doesn't mean we are obligated to, Sag. You become more discerning as you realize that the temporary discomfort of not saying what others want to hear leads to a better outcome for everyone. The lesson is a deep one and it is ever-growing. It has never be so important to be conscious of where we put our energy.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19) — The balance of work and pleasure is one you are continually mastering, Capricorn. It is important to structure time and space for pleasure. Your nature is to drive yourself, but there is a need for a holistic approach to life overall. You will discover more and more ways to round out yourself by simply allowing the time and space for new things.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18) — Interference on the mental plane is something you need to be cautious about, Aquarius. We tend to underestimate and dismiss our perceptions when they are hard to pinpoint. Your awareness grows. As you observe your feelings, you can decipher when and where interfering energies are coming into your thoughts. This is your point of power.
