The Sun, traveling through Sagittarius this month until it enters Capricorn on the 22nd, marking the Winter Solstice, reminds us of the knowledge we have gained through living the lives we have. We feel inspired now to share what we have learned with those who might benefit from our wisdom. We embody the Sagittarian energy as we move into our philosophical seats. It is through questing and synthesizing our life experiences that we come to arrive at new places of understanding and develop our own philosophical voice. How shall we honor our wisdom?

The new moon on the 9th in Sagittarius inspires us to find new places to share that are supportive and safe and honoring. The full moon on the 23rd in Cancer leaves us all feeling more emotionally courageous.

Mercury enters Sagittarius on the 1st and moves into Capricorn on the 20th. We feel strengthened and supported when we express our philosophical voice. It is through expanding our arenas of personal expression that we come to build more solid grounding underneath us. Venus enters Scorpio on the 5th, placing depth and truth at the top of the list of the things we value. Mars, traveling retrograde, reenters Gemini on the 31st, opening doors to reexamine earlier choices with newly acquired understanding. Jupiter conjuncts Pluto in Sagittarius on the 11th for the first time in 12 years and then moves into Capricorn on the 18th. Look for openings and new opportunities for powerful venues of soul-level expression. Saturn turns retrograde in Virgo on the 19th and will continue this motion until next May; we reevaluate the need for clear boundaries and self-containment as we head into the future together. Uranus in Pisces teaches us that a spiritual path is meant to align us with our own soul's longing and with our greatest potential. Chiron and Neptune in Aquarius remind us that tenderness toward the self is vital now.

Famous Sagittarians: Mark Twain, Billy the Kid, Jane Fonda

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21) — Happy birthday, Sag! Where you may have felt the need to hold the line with others, you now see the boundaries dissolving. This is the power of conscious coexistence. When we are clear, we can stay true to ourselves and allow others to be where they are without feeling threatened. The courage to back ourselves pays off in the long run.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19) — The stillness moves you, Capricorn. You go deeper inward and feel the power in simply being. There is no effort to be exerted. Simple clarity and the strength that comes from self-honor will bring about the desired results. You are well aware of this now and can setting more deeply into that knowing.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18) — You assess what is not working, Aquarius. As you turn your attention toward your emotions, you find the answers you are looking for. It is a dance. We must feel our feelings if we are to be whole and healthy and capable of creating a balanced world. You give yourself room to process what comes up for you as life unfolds without judgment or hesitation.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20) — You tune things down, Pisces. There is plenty to perceive in the absence of activity. You come alive in the most tranquil of places, and in simplicity you feel the wellspring of life at its fullest. Your ability to connect to peace and bring that energy into this world through personal embodiment is something everyone benefits from.

ARIES (March 21-April 19) — You step more fully into your larger identity, Aries. You always seem to move through the world with great focus, but now you open yourself up to a higher view of things that is more inclusive of your higher self. You are awakened by things that remind you of why you are here and align your life-force to empower that path.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20) — You rest in the shadow of your own strength, Taurus. There is no pressure. You have a lot in your life that you can draw comfort from and you tune into that fact now. You teach us all the value of exploring more pleasure as you embody the joy that this world can bring when we settle into the moment.

GEMINI (May 21-June 20) — Transformation is the name of the game, Gemini. You release your hold on things and tumble through the events that conspire to change into something more real and whole. We can hold ourselves back without consciously seeing it. And so life must bring about events that take us to greater places of freedom from time to time. You can trust life.

CANCER (June 21-July 22) — There are times when give and take is part of the plan, but now you stay more tuned into your own personal, private state of balance, Cancer. You are at liberty to pass things by and engage or not engage where and when you see fit. This is a great place to arrive into and to nurture and grow further.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22) — You have gifts to give, Leo. This is a good space to be in and a good time to be there. When you move through the world, you have a place of usefulness that you are aligned with and tuned into. It brings you great satisfaction to give to others and to make use of what you have become.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22) — We shake things up to make room for more healthy possibilities and now you move into the new spaces that have come into being. You are always trying and doing your best and oftentimes you are ahead of the curve and arrive before the time is quite right. Now, there is space for you and you feel the room to bring your gifts forward into greater places of reception.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22) — Overenthusiasm leaves you needing a good long rest, Libra. Take it. It is amazing to discover that we can step out of the stream and take a good long nap in the sun when we make up our minds to do so. The renewal is necessary and vital to your ultimately productivity. A little down time can bring great dividends in the long run.

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21) — You recoil from things that drew you in before, Scorpio. Things are not always what they appear to be and no one knows this more than a Scorpio. Your depth is your strength, and once you see things clearly you move into that place of power that enables you to walk away. It is amazing to see the complexity of the darker side of life. But you can never really be fooled.
