The Sun, traveling through Libra this month, calls up our power and we are more inclined to sit strong and be willing to be unwavering in our relationships and reveal more of our true selves. Then the Sun enters Scorpio on the 23rd at the Fall Equinox, and we dive deeper into our souls for knowledge. Libra energy is about balance and harmony and the power of the mirror. What is worth moving off our center for? How often do we abandon ourselves for acceptance and for love? The higher manifestations of Libra energy address the capacity in us all to reflect the beauty of another's soul back to them. And so, the shadow side of this power is withholding love and distorting beauty. The new moon on the 11th in Libra inspires us to sit in our strength and allow others to adjust to us. The full moon on the 26th in Taurus shines down strength and nourishment on us.

Mercury turns retrograde in Scorpio on the 12th and will turn direct in early November. Retrograde times are perfect for slowing down and for reassessment. We consider how best to exist and communicate on Scorpionic levels. Personal empowerment is a scary sight to a lot of people, but should they be allowed to shut us down? People who find soul-level beauty repulsive are the ones we should be scared of. Mars moves through Cancer as we feel our way forward. Jupiter travels through its home sign of Sagittarius, opening doors for us. Saturn is in Virgo now after two and a half years in Leo: What can we manifest from a place of self-containment? Uranus continues its journey through Pisces. Chiron, the wounded healer, turns direct in Aquarius on the 21st after five months of retrograde motion: There is potency in our history of pain; when we heal our wounds we can show others the way out as no one else can. Neptune also turns direct this month in Aquarius after five months of retrograde motion. Pluto makes its third conjunction with the Galactic Center at 26 degrees of Sagittarius on the 26th. There are many people who have grown more deeply into their power during this time. We will see new beliefs expressed in the days ahead. We will not have this alignment again for another 248 years. This has been a great time of spiritual and psychological introspection and deepening for many of us. Now, we begin to feel the energy flow forward in new and wondrous ways.

Famous Libras: Bruce Springsteen, Jimmy Carter, John Lennon

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22) — Happy birthday, Libra! It's time to ground and to shine. Show us your strength and tell us how you really feel. Give yourself the gift of empowered dynamics. The challenge is to stay strong even when others are pulling you to give them what they want or asking you to be who they want you to be. Be who you are and let the people who are drawn to your authentic self come forward and into your life.

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21) — You are swept away by your feelings, Scorpio. Follow the flow and let your senses guide you. There is peace for you in the nebulousness of the imaginary realms. Go there and spend time with others who are gentle and kind and who give you the space to feel safe in tranquility. Let yourself dream.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21) — Even a Sagittarius needs down time. You grow weary from too much activity and long for a chance to chill out. Let the energy flow on by and remind yourself that you don't have to grab hold and go for the ride. You can just be still and be like a rock in the river. This will renew you and bring you back to center.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19) — You buckle down and roll up your sleeves and dig in, Capricorn. This work is not about high art right now, but rather the basic mundane tasks at hand. You do well at clearing your desk and stamping things "done." You are in your element of mastery as you check things off your list one by one with glee.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18) — When we have insight, it is important to act on it. You know what to do and your job is to be true to yourself and trust your intuition, Aquarius. This world is so often held together through strange ties where we agree among ourselves to turn a blind eye to the our inner clarity and pretend. You feel the courage to act on your own behalf.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20) — When one cycle ends, we often have a jumping-off point into a whole new set of experiences. You find new openings now and your timing is impeccable, Pisces. Through living life we become more. You are capable of new things and you stretch new muscles and venture into the unknown.

ARIES (March 21-April 19) — You reach out and seek balance and workable agreements and solutions, Aries. When you step forward, you find a meeting place that works for you and others. There is power in your choices. Your clarity about your own desires brings clarity to others. You teach people to honor themselves by example.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20) — You find your footing, Taurus, and it is on a higher level. A strong sense of grounding is the most essential, elemental ingredient for you in all your movements through life. You are able to feel your center now more strongly and this frees you up to begin your next round of manifestations!

GEMINI (May 21-June 20) — You are ignited, Gemini. Give yourself all the room in the world to be free and to create. You flourish in the midst of your fiery expressions. Maybe new tools are in order. There is nothing like a new creative undertaking to give room and direction to inspiration.

CANCER (June 21-July 22) — You look out toward your destiny and are able to connect to a deep sense of trust, Cancer. Your ability to draw in your power and enclose yourself in a world of your own making leads you to a place of confidence and new capability. You can dream pragmatic dreams.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22) — You turn away from what is not working, Leo. Why bother doing things that you know will lead to outcomes that are undesirable? There are clear choices and you feel more freedom to follow your higher self and to make decisions that are healthy and good for you and for everyone involved.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22) — You are magical, Virgo. The less you look toward others, the more you dwell in the power of your own center, which is what brings you grace. It is hard to be a Virgo and not feel drawn to consider how we show up under the agendas of others. But, alas, the greatest peace comes from honoring our own sense of good and rightness and drawing from our inner self for the source of the agenda.
