The Sun, traveling through Aquarius this month, draws up our courage to come more forward into life–until the 18th, when it enters Pisces and we contemplate our spiritual essence and motives.

Aquarius' energy represents how and where we gift our true selves into the larger whole. Who in our lives has the capacity to receive us? Where do we feel restricted and shut down? Now is the time to assess the toll limiting people take on us–and to embrace those who are capable of holding a space for our authentic expression. The full moon in Leo on Feb. 2 says to us that we must clear away what limits us internally and truly shine alone before we have the gift of self to share with others. Where is the residue of self-alienation that the lack of love and true support in this life has left behind? The new moon on 17th in Aquarius sets us all forth on a new cycle of authentic self-expression.

The month opens with Mercury traveling direct through Aquarius, then entering Pisces on Feb. 2 and turning retrograde on the 13th and re-entering Aquarius on the 26th. Mercury will travel retrograde until March 7. We can all utilize this period to regroup and reconsider our ways of seeing things and perhaps realize more options in the realms of communication.

Venus travels through Pisces until the 21st, when it enters Aries and we reevaluate how we express ourselves in life. Mars travels through Capricorn until the 25th, when it moves into Aquarius. We are all more driven to be true in our dealings with each other. Saturn in Leo forms an opposition to Neptune in Aquarius on the 28th. Structures that empower us personally grant us the space to be with others in honor and harmony.

Jupiter in Sagittarius keeps our curiosity alive. Neptune, the planet of spirituality, and Chiron, the planet of the wounded healer, continue traveling through Aquarius. Uranus in Pisces opens spiritual doors for us all and Pluto continues traveling through the late degrees of Sagittarius, empowering our expansion.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)–Happy birthday, Aquarius! There is no time like the present to step up and claim your successes. It is healthy to take the time and space to reflect on our accomplishments. In this culture, we can find ourselves running on a seemingly endless treadmill, and we need to be conscious of the necessity of the occasional time-out to acknowledge ourselves and all our efforts!

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20)–You find yourself awakening from the mellowness of life and in the midst of change, Pisces. You can still go with the flow; it's just that now the flow has picked up speed. Take a deep breath and use that magnificent power you have to adapt and you will do just fine.

ARIES (March 21-April 19)–You gain much by raising your level of compassion for self now, Aries. The more you can tune into your feelings and be there for yourself, the better. You heal the wounds of self-alienation as you grow to care more deeply about your own heart and become more capable of real self-love.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20)–It is most beneficial for you to continually tune into your center and to take the time to ground yourself and stay consistent in those areas now, Taurus. Life brings change and the change is for the good. By being consistent in your efforts to remain grounded, you find your grace and move through these times more comfortably.

GEMINI (May 21-June 20)–You are most fulfilled these days when you share with others, Gemini. You are able to be more expanded as you extend yourself to both give and receive on larger levels. You have more than you need and there are those too who wish to share what they have with you. You are in your element of expansion.

CANCER (June 21-July 22)–You move from your feelings into your mind, Cancer. Life seems to require that from you now. You clear the fog and activate your mind more fully and become somewhat scientific in your approach. There are things to solve and work out that need your focus and attention and you rise to the occasion.

LEO (July 23-August 22)–Even Leos need solitude and a break from the limelight from time to time! You find you are more inclined to lie a bit low and tune into your own energy, apart from the rest of the world. There is much to gain in time alone and there is a deepening relationship with yourself that forms from this.

VIRGO (August 23-Sept. 22)–All right, Virgo, it's time to take a deep breath and release all that focus and intensity. Your job now is simply to take pleasure in your life as it is. Look around you and feel peace. Do what you can to not take on any more projects right now, and just enjoy what is already manifest.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)–It could be all that understanding you pour out to others that leaves you feeling burned out in that arena now, Libra, but whatever the cause, you are at your wits' end when it comes to interfering energy. There is no room now to move off your center to accommodate energies you do not want to hold space for.

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)–Issues of authority arise now, Scorpio. There is always frustration when we realize that we have much less control than we might want. Your authority issues are yours to contend with and you feel the pinch. These are times when grounding ourselves more deeply into what we agree with and feel at home with is the best approach.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)–You find yourself having more and more experiences with people you truly love, Sag. There is a natural ease and beauty that the effortlessness of these exchanges brings to you. You feel the holiness that the sacred union between souls has as its potential. You honor the sacredness of mutual love and reverence.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)–Anyone in your path feels the effects of your presence, Capricorn. You are ready to rock the world and have an intolerance for the things that aren't working and no longer serve you. There is a pioneering quality to you that gives you the courage to really shake things up with the hope of bringing about much more constructive possibilities.
