The Sun, traveling through Capricorn this month, invites us to examine just what we have manifested and what we give our power to–until the 20th, when it enters Aquarius and we delve deeper into our souls to find the keys to what it is that makes us unique and where we consider how we might be more authentic as we live our lives. Capricorn represents how we own our power and authority in the world and reveals the nature of the structures we build to sustain ourselves. How do the things we have built serve us? Are they capable of holding us and giving us the space to truly exist? If we were free to fully express here, what would the structures look like that we would use and bring into form? These are what we will all be considering in the days ahead. The full moon in Cancer on Jan. 3 draws us inward ,where we must be able to dwell in comfort and ease if we are to own ourselves out there in the world. What good is impressing the world if we have abandoned ourselves in the process? The new moon on Jan. 18 in
Capricorn invigorates us to create something ripe and rich with potential.

The month opens with Mercury traveling direct through Capricorn. We speak with an air of confidence and can see how we matter. Mercury enters Aquarius on the 15th and we feel the bravery needed to reveal more of our uniqueness. Venus enters Aquarius on Jan. 5 and then moves into Pisces on Jan. 29; we explore the spritual value of our individual self-expression. Mars joins the great transformer Pluto at the Galactic Center in the late degrees of Sagittarius on the 13th and then heads into Capricorn on the 16th. We are all united whether we want to be or not. It is our individual voice and our deep beliefs that allow us to affect the collective and raise the possibilities here. We come to see more clearly how we can change things.

Jupiter in Sagittarius squares Uranus in Pisces on the 22nd. We become less nebulous and more faithful when it comes to owning our personal convictions. Saturn travels retrograde through Leo as we consider our physical needs and think about the resources we must have in order to express ourselves more completely. Neptune, the planet of spirituality, and Chiron, the planet of the wounded healer, continue traveling through Aquarius as we revisit our spiritual wounds and become more whole and powerful because of them. We have no idea what we are capable of now–anything is possible.

Famous Capricorns:
Martin Luther King Jr., Nostradamus, Howard Stern

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)–Happy birthday, Capricorn! You let all your worries go and just indulge in your own feelings of happiness. What good is so much mastery if you don't take the time to feel pleasure? This is very clear to you now as you take a break and soak up some well-deserved fun. A perfect way to start off your new year!

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)–You are keenly aware of your connection to the higher realms and feel how you are at home there. You are restrained under the conditions of this limited reality, Aquarius, as you turn toward a larger view of yourself and the cosmos and see how you fit somewhere there, inside of a more universal scheme. From there, you are at ease.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20)–'Tis the season for change, Pisces. You step out of your dream state and feel your feet on the ground. You are ready to make a move of some kind and find that your direction is becoming clear and your desires more visible. You make your transition with grace and confidence as you see your way now and follow the path that will lead you to more balance and health.

ARIES (March 21-April 19)–There is no time like the present to work with the resources you have in front of you now to create something better and more stable, Aries. You stand still for a moment and realize that there is much to work with in the here and now and you feel capable and enjoy the sense of responsibility for your own life.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20)–You need a clean slate, Taurus. You use that great force you hold to wipe everything away that is not in harmony with you that has somehow found a way into your space. There is a great sense of inspiration rising from within. You, the resourceful one, know how to take advantage of this opportunity and you use it wisely.

GEMINI (May 21-June 20)–You can see real progress now, Gemini. There is so much you do and give your energy to as you move through your world, that it is nice to step back from time to time and take notice of how you have changed and grown and how your efforts have led you to gain. Take a deep breath and admire yourself for a moment!

CANCER (June 21-July 22)–You are less inclined to be still and quiet now and more aware than usual of your greatness, Cancer. There is a power and beauty to your soul and as your remember this, you feel your passion rising. You are more trusting and more reverent when it comes to your own core and now you can feel the self-love needed to exist more sensually inside your world.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22)–In a way, you couldn't care less about serious grown-up concerns these days, Leo. You are far more interested in just letting go and being free, free, free. You bring the gift of childlike freedom to those around you. Your willingness to just be playful liberates us all a little more to do the same! What a noble undertaking!

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)–You stand at the door to a new beginning of sorts now, Virgo. You are always growing and stabilizing yourself at higher and higher levels of existence. Now, you feel ready to grow and move in new and wondrous ways that bring more health and holistically fulfilling emotional experiences into your life.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)–Perhaps it is all the merging that seems to take place around this time of year, but whatever the cause, you have reached a sort of limit, Libra. Too much of anything makes for discomfort and you feel a bit overloaded. You always know where the balance is–and where it isn't. There is no time like the present to reclaim your center and remove yourself from everything that keeps you from that sacred place.

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)–There is a lot of mental clearing going on inside that powerful mind of yours, Scorpio. It is amazing how those disharmonic thoughtforms can find their way into our minds when we least expect it! You feel your strength as you clear out everything that is not true for you and regain that sense of authority you love so well, inside your own private world.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)–As the collective becomes more filled with a sense of possibility, you have a natural desire to connect to your larger, more cosmic self. You are much more at home in a world that has a larger view of the human potential. As you live in that state of realization, you expand the world for all humanity to do the same.
