The latest outpost of the Lorenzo's empire has opened its doors, at the corner of Lohman and Roadrunner Parkway in Las Cruces (522-7755). It's open Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-9 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m.-9:30 p.m.; and Sunday, 11 a.m.-8:30 p.m. . . .

A Taste of Philly on Lohman in Las Cruces has closed. . . .

The Paisano Cafe in Organ is now the Organ Mountain Cafe (373-3000). Hours are Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-6 p.m., and Saturday, 8 a.m.-2 p.m. . . .

Pete's Hacienda on Espina St. in Las Cruces has become El Ranchero. . . .

El Rey Meat Market in Deming plans to add a sit-down restaurant and takeout food, dubbed Las Casuelas. It's at 108 N. Platinum, 544-8432. . . .

Also coming to Deming is Sapo Verde (which means "green toad"), on North Silver. . . .

Teapot Dome, which serves coffee and baked goods as well as selling books, has moved from its familiar corner location in Deming to 107 E. Spruce (546-2828). . . .

Jack's Rib Joint in Deming has closed.
