Something New—Pianist Charles Blanchard returns to perform live music he has composed for this wonderful and little-known silent film. The director, leading man and co-writer (with star/ co-director and producer Nell Shipman), Bert Van Tuyle was a former race car driver and his saving of the heroine in the proverbial nick of time was meant to prove what a sturdy automobile the Maxwell really was. But Shipman manages to insert a few thoughts about the quick changing of the Old West in general and women's place in a modern society in particular. Admission (includes museum) adults $3, seniors $2, ages 6 to 17 $1. 1:30 p.m. Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum, 4100 Dripping Springs Road, 522-4100, www.frhm.org.
