This month the sun travels through Libra (having entered this powerful sign of reflection on the 23rd of last month) and will head into Scorpio on Oct. 23, compelling us then to dive a little deeper. But this month is about loving and exalting the beautiful Libras among us! This potentially world-changing sign is about so much more than just beauty and harmony. It teaches us the power of the mirror and how, when we are true to ourselves and centered deep within our own souls, we can bring forth the same in others.

The new moon on Oct. 3 will also be in Libra and the full moon on the Oct. 17 will be in Aries, asking us to be true to ourselves when we are in relationship to others. Moving off our center to accommodate things untrue in order to achieve a sense of harmony is not a high objective. The Libra/Aries axis is deeper than that. It teaches us how, when we are clear and centered in our deeper selves, we can bring the world into a higher balance by remaining unwavering-especially through the discomfort of disharmony.

Mercury continues traveling in direct motion as it enters Scorpio on Oct. 8, where it stays until Oct. 30, when it moves into the sign of Sagittarius. What a perfect time to express your deepest truths in more expansive ways! Venus leaves Scorpio and heads into Sagittarius on Oct. 8, asking us to expand our personal values into more areas of our lives. Mars remains in Taurus but will travel retrograde beginning Oct. 1. This movement will continue through Dec. 9, asking us to consider our motives and to probe deeply into what drives us in our lives. We must give one another the space to turn inward.

Jupiter has stretched our capacity to mirror each other throughout this past year as it has traveled the sign of Libra. It enters Scorpio on Oct. 26, inviting us to expand further as we deepen what we share.

Saturn is in Leo. Chiron, the wounded healer, turns direct in Capricorn on Oct. 4. We move forward now with more self-respect.

Uranus is still retrograde in Pisces. Neptune turns direct in mid-Aquarius on Oct. 26 after five months in retrograde motion. We come forward now, inspired by our dreams and visions. And Pluto in Sagitarius propels us forward into our shared destiny.

Famous Libras: Mahatma Gandhi, Christopher Reeve, Catherine Zeta-Jones.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)-You shine in your beauty, Libra, as you share with others your gifts of love and caring. Your sensitivity is a sight to behold as you nourish the people in your world in ways that are life-sustaining. You are able to give without sacrificing yourself or losing your center. And everyone wins.

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)-You feel compelled to show up for others these days, Scorpio. There is a great sense of confidence that emerges for you as you step forward and act nobly. Others are moved by your chivalry and you find yourself enjoying having a clear place of value in the larger world. It's always nice to be wanted and appreciated.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)-You are apt to lose your excitement when you have too much of even a good thing, Sag. You do better when you turn away from excess and head in a more Zen direction now. There is so much to appreciate in the simplest of life's offerings and this is what appeals to your senses now. You need space and a break from overwhelming situations. Just walk away and take a breather!

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)-You are growing and changing, Capricorn. Allow yourself to feel disappointment as you let go of what does not serve your highest good. Do not worry that you are failing. You are only moving to new places and this naturally entails releasing outmoded things. This is necessary in order to grow more fully into circumstances that allow you to use more of your skills.

AQUARIUS (January 20-February 18)-One of the greatest gifts that comes to those who know themselves is the chance to be seen and loved for who we are. So often we are asked in this culture to abandon ourselves in order to be accepted. Now, you find yourself being loved by those who have the capacity to see you for who you truly are. How heavenly is that?!

PISCES (Feb. 19-Mar. 20)-Until humanity integrates itself more fully and becomes more embodied emotionally, the Pisces of the world will no doubt feel the weight of the world's sorrows. Wherever you can break away from the tug of the collective and can tune into only your own personal voice, you gain tremendously, Pisces. You can get overloaded easily now. Compassion for yourself is vital.

ARIES (Mar. 21-Apr. 19)-There is no sign that shows up more beautifully in the role of the hero than Aries. Your pure heart and the sincerity of your intent leads you to do the right thing. You are in your element as you do the right thing. Your goals are noble and this means you are on the right road and in the right place to rescue those in need.

TAURUS (Apr. 20-May 20)-There are times in life when we must fight for what we believe is ours. You consider your rights now, Taurus. You have the right to dominate your own life-because it is your life to live. When others try to stand dominate over you, you find it unacceptable. You are willing to fight for your freedom to live uninterfered-with.

GEMINI (May 21-June 20)-It is rare to find a soul who has not been devastated by this world. This fact leads to the truth that we are living in times when others can be cruel as the result of not having healed their wounds. Many people choose to reenact their disowned stories by being cruel to others. You must guard your precious self and know that, by feeling your own pain, you become part of a new, more healthy and safer world.

CANCER (June 21-July 22)-As comfortable as a Cancer can be with things moving forward slowly, you do well by strapping yourself in tight and holding on for some rapid changes now. You can always settle back into stability-so don't worry! You are just ready for renewal and it comes about through sudden, unexpected changing circumstances. Temporary discomfort pays off with high dividends.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22)-You are naturally tuned into the cycles of life, Leo. You allow what is done to be done. You have a clear understanding of the need to allow space for closure and completion before moving on. You enjoy where you are because you are present for the experience. Being honest as life unfolds makes living in the moment easy and natural.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)-What has stood in the way of your happiness is brought to light now, Virgo. You are ready to enjoy yourself more and you know that you deserve to. There is no doubt that you have done your work. What has interfered with your peace is simply the contaminating energies of others, things that don't really have anything to do with you. It really boils down to keeping distracting and draining energies at bay as you open your heart up for greater joy.
